Pert Zejfart

Petr Zejfart was born in 1957 in Prague. Since he got his diploma in modern flute at the Conservatory first and then at the Musical Academy of Prague, Petr Zejfart has given concerts all over Europe, both as a soloist and as a member of chamber music groups and orchestras. After moving to Italy, he undertook the study of the recorder under the supervision of Pedro Memelsdorf at the Civica Scuola di Musica di Milano and continued to perfect himself with the help of Kees Boeke and Marijke Miessen. At present he performs regularly with Musica Concertiva, the group he founded, and has recorded three compact discs for Supraphon with the same formation. He has also been cooperating with the groups Il Giardino Armonico, Accademia Bizzantina , Europa Galante, La Venexiana and Ensemble Zefiro giving concerts and recording for Teldec , Virgin and CPO. He is particularly interested in the conduction of pre-romantic repertory for small instrumental groups and chamber orchestras, for both teaching and performing purposes. He taught Chamber music for wind instruments and Baroque Chamber music at the Conservatory of Rovigo from 1986 to 1995 and at Parma Conservatory since 1996.
