Kristófi János Zsigmond DLA – orgonaművész

Kristófi János Zsigmond DLA was born in 1965. Graduated as an organist and teacher at the Liszt Ferenc Music Academy of Budapest in 1996. He is the organist of the Roman Catholic Basilica in Nagyvárad/Oradea since 1987 and teaches at the Partium Christian University since 1996. He had many successful performances in Hungary (Budapest, Mathias church), Austria, Germany (Dom in Bamberg, Erlangen), Finland (Pori) and Slovakia (Komarno). His first recording appeared in 1998 with the title of “Splendor Organi”, two further CD’s were released in 2004.

Since 2007 he is doctor of church music. He finished his postgraduate studies in The Church Music Institute of the Franz Liszt Music Academy.

He founded the MICHAEL HAYDN chamber choir in 2002. In 2006 the choir MICHAEL HAYDN had many successful performances in the Dom of Salzburg, in Budapest, and other Hungarian cities. The concert held in Budapest was recorded by Radio Bartók, and broadcasted in 2007. In April 2007 the choir participated in Loreto, Italy at the famous International Choir Festival. In Sibiu/Hermannstadt, European Cultural Capital 2007 he had organ recital in august, and choral performance in October. He held organ recitals regularly in several cities in Romania such as: Sibiu/Hermannstadt, Bra?ov/Kronstadt Black church, Mediasch, Oradea, Baia Mare, Cluj-Napoca, T?rgu-Mure?, Odorheiu-Secuiesc, Codlea, F?g?ra?, Sighi?oara.
